One of the saddest days...

10th of July 1999. The NATO bombing campaign has ended. Our people have endured 78 days of rain. An rain of fire,smoke and ash, over 3000 civilians have lost their lives in this fray. The Army still was capable of carrying on the fighting but why fight when they will start throwing Carpet bombs on your capital which will result in the deaths of thousands of people. With the withdrawal of the Serbian Army many people went into exile it is estimated that over 200 000 people (serbian and non albanians) have followed the serbian army columns that were leaving Kosovo. A friend of mine who went through the war has told me that the worst part will begin soon. And that is that we the younger generations will finish that what our fathers havent. And that atleast we will march out victorious. My father lost everything he had on Kosovo. Atleast he has a new existence here in Paracin. But one day i hope that i will be there to see where my roots come from. To see it...with my own eyes.
